Hampir setiap kali saya ada kesempatan untuk bersambang ke kota ini saya mampir ke Rumah makan Mekar Sari untuk sejenak menikmati kudapan tempo dulu yang nikmat. Sampai di Rumah Makan Kusuma Sari saya memesan Selat Solo dan Kroket Mayonaise, tidak menunggu lama pesanan sayan datang. Selat Solo disini penampilannya memang terlihat lebih menarik jika dibandingkan dengan produk serupa yang dijual di tempat lain. Bahkan menurut beberapa orang, selat yang disajikan disini merupakan racikan otentik selat Solo dari sayur yang masih terlihat warnanya yang segar dan berasa manis jika dinikmati serta saus mayonesnya yang punya cita rasa tersendiri karena menurut informasi dari salah salu pegawainya mayones mereka racikan sendiri. Selat Solo Kusuma Sari terdiri dari potongan daging sapi tanpa lemak yang empuk dan di sekelilingnya disusun aneka sayuran seperti buncis, wortel dan kentang yang telah direbus, irisan tomat segar, dan daun selada segar. Disertakan pula potongan telur rebus, keripik kentang, dan saus mayones yang ditaruh di atas daun selada. Racikan tersebut disiram dengan kuah semur yang manis gurih. Ketika digigit dagingnya masih terasa juicy, sangat nikmat. Kroket merupakan hidangan paling enak di Kusuma Sari. Baik kroket lombok maupun kroket mayonaise, keduanya memiliki bagian isi yang sangat lembut dan gurih, yummm, kroket paling enak yang pernah saya makan. Kroket ini disajikan dengan saus tomat, saus sambal dan lombok, saat digigit rasa lembut kentang dan bumbu yang ada di dalamnya sungguh nikmat dan menggugah selera untuk menghabiskan. Hmmmm sungguh nikmat. Kalian suka makan kroket atau malah ngga tau apa itu makanan kroket ? Kroket adalah makanan yang berbahan dasar kentang dan ayam yang dihaluskan, yang dilapisi dengan putih telur dan tepung panir tepung roti. Jangan tanya soal rasa, tentu rasanya sangat enak, lebih enak lagi kalo kalian makannya di Kusuma Sari Resto, karena kroket disana sangat enak, harganya murah, dan tempatnya nyaman. Tetapi kalian harus bersabar untuk mengantri, karena disana sangat ramai pada waktu tertentu. Jadi, kalo kalian tipe orang yang tidak sabar, pintar-pintarlah memilih waktu sehingga bisa terhindar dari ramainya pengunjung. Untuk kalian yang ngga suka makan kroket. We stopped by here since it was really close to the hotel we stayed The Royal Surakarta Heritage; approx. 500...m away. We reached there around 330 pm and we were all very hungry since we had not eaten anything for lunch. However, we also didn't want to order a big lunch since we were afraid we would be full for dinner. We ended up ordering two meals for our nephews as well as snacks and desserts for both of me and my wife. This particular establishment was quite busy although it was not lunch or dinner time. I guess they were quite popular among their loyal guests. I never seen they were really crowded except on Saturday or really quiet every time we pass by this restaurant. Our snacks and desserts were served first following our a la carte orders. They were quite tasty but not the point they met my original expectation. However, their prices were inexpensive at all and they certainly made up the area where they were lacking of. Will we return back to this particular establishment ? There's a little misccuracy though the exact location is about 600 m north from where this application pinpoints. It's an old square-shape restaurant...famous for its modified western food. We tried the Sirloin Hotplate that only cost Rp 24k. You cannot expect too much for the taste with price like that, can you? But it's worthed to try. But you gotta try the ice creams. The "Kusuma Sari Ice Cream" Rp 18k is one of the kind. We also tried the "Tutty-frutty" Rp 16k. In my opinion, it's better than the Ragusa Ice Cream in Jakarta, and, of course, cheaper. I had only a little disappointment it's the ambience. The room is filled with too many tables. When we came, it was too noisy. We had to watch our walk, because the distance between tables was less than a meter. Anyway, we love this restaurant.
